Day 01: Arrive in Paro – Drive to Thimphu (55 km / 1.5 hrs)

  • Enjoy a scenic flight to Paro with Himalayan views. 
  • Meet your guide/driver at the airport and begin drive to Thimphu. 
  • En route, visit Tamchog Lhakhang, a private temple of Thangthong Gyalpo. 
  • Cross the iron chain bridge — one of the few remaining historic bridges. 
  • Stop at Chuzom, the confluence of Thimphu & Paro rivers. 
  • Check in at your Thimphu hotel and relax. 
  • Evening: Explore Clock Tower Square and Local Crafts Market for Bhutanese textiles, Thangka art, and jewelry. 
  • Overnight in Thimphu. 

Day 02: Explore Thimphu

  • Visit National Memorial Chorten and Buddha Dordenma Statue (51.5m). 
  • Tour Jungshi Paper Factory and Simply Bhutan Museum. 
  • Visit Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal. 
  • Explore National Institute of Zorig Chusum (Painting School). 
  • Enjoy panoramic views from Thimphu Viewpoint overlooking Tashichho Dzong. 
  • Optional short hike to Sangaygang View Point (30 mins). 
  • Time permitting, visit Changangkha Monastery, Simtokha Dzong, Textile Museum, or Farmer’s Market. 
  • Overnight in Thimphu. 

Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha/Wangdue (85 km / 2–3 hrs)

  • Drive across the scenic Dochula Pass (3,050m) with Himalayan views. 
  • Descend into the warm Punakha-Wangdue Valley (1,450m). 
  • Visit Richengang Village, known for its clustered houses. 
  • Take a short walk to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility). 
  • Explore the stunning Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. 
  • Stop at Khuruthang town before heading to the hotel. 
  • Overnight in Punakha. 

Day 04: Punakha – Paro (130 km / 3–4 hrs)

  • Short morning hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for breathtaking valley views. 
  • Drive back via Dochula Pass, with lunch en route. 
  • Continue to Paro, and visit: 
    • Rinpung Dzong 
    • National Museum 
    • Kichu & Dungtse Temples 
    • Local home visit and stroll around Paro town. 
  • Overnight in Paro. 

Day 05: Paro Valley – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

  • Drive to the trailhead and hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery (3,120m). 
  • Enjoy breathtaking views and visit the sacred monastery. 
  • Optional pony ride till the first viewpoint & cafeteria (walk down required). 
  • Return to Paro for evening leisure or local exploration. 
  • Optional Excursion: 
    • Chele La Pass (1.5 hrs) — Bhutan’s highest motorable road. 
    • On clear days, enjoy views of Mt. Jumolhari, Jichu Drake, and Haa Valley. 
  • Overnight in Paro.
